Debra Mastaler of Alliance Link recently told me that adding an interactive map to your ‘local’ based website may be good idea since it is a big hint to the engine you are pulling from of where your business is located. Pretty important facts in a ‘local’ search optimization project. I did some research and found an article at Exploration age explaing about how to add a google map to your website (Note this is different than just a static image map). It turns out today I read on the Google Blog they have now elminated some of the steps and complexities involved and created the Map Search Wizard. In 4 easy steps you can have an interactive map from Google featuring your business, live and running on your website. The fourth step of course is pasting the map code generated on your web page. I will be adding the map to my websites shortly.
Adding an interactive Google Map to your website is now even easier
